Gina received a B.A. in Biology from The Colorado College and studied Ecology, Evolution and Behavior at the University of Kentucky (M.S.) and University of Minnesota. Her research investigated sexual selection and disease transmission in blackbirds and mating and migration in butterflies. In addition, she conducted several field research projects in Central and South America.
Gina's interests in education span from birth to adult, and she has recently worked as an adjunct faculty member on the Arizona State University West campus, as a professional development curriculum designer and instructor for elementary school teachers in the Phoenix Valley, and with numerous informal science education organizations for children. Currently, she is the Education Coordinator for CAP LTER Ecology Explorers.
