Dr. Childers' research focuses on wetland ecosystem ecology, in particular questions about controls on primary production, biogeochemical cycling, and soil dynamics. He has worked in both forested and herbaceous wetland ecosystems, and in many different freshwater and estuarine systems around the world. He led the Florida Coastal Everglades Long-Term Ecological Research project from its inception in 2000 until 2008. Dr. Childers teaches the course, Sustainable World. Select PublicationsChilders, D.
