Project Summary

Our two projects include building an interactive spin-o-rama, which features information about Rio Salado. This includes elements such as history, animals, and plants. We decided to do this project because we thought that it would be a fun and informative way for visitors to learn about the park.
Our second project consists of designing and painting several trashcans in order to bring colorful and unique aspects to the park. On our trashcans, we have included a trivia question that people can find the answer to on the bottom.

Highlights for the year
Our club has visited Rio Salado three times this semester. We have had the opportunity to work with GPS units to learn about mapping and microclimates. Our group has studied water samples from Rio Salado by checking for various items such as nitrate, phosphorous, and pH. We have spent time focusing on the history of Rio Salado and how environmental and human factors have changed the river over the years. We have done onsite plant collections to begin a herbarium to track the vegetative changes at the site. Some of our best memories are when we have been able to visit the site and study the different ecosystems that coexist there. We would like to thank everyone for making this club possible for us.
