Project Summary
Petroglyph paintings – We hope to show the visitors of Rio Salado some of the art left by the Native Americans that lived in the area.
Birdhouses - These will help show people what bird habitat looks like and how birds can live in homes that are made for them. The visitors can watch the birds as they are going to their houses. It will show people that we care. It will benefit the visitors because the people can see the different kinds of birds and the birds have a place to live.
Bat boxes – These provide shelter for bats and keep them safe. They will show the visitors that bats are not scary and that they are good because they eat lots of bugs.

Highlights for the year
This year we have learned about riparian ecosystems including water quality, soil types, aquifers, animals, and plants. Some highlights included taking a trip to the Rio Salado and South Mountain Park as well as a visit from one of the Arizona Game and Fish’s Bat Biologists.
