Exploration of ‘pill bugs’

Abstract
Relating directly to the Arizona State (Life) Science Standards, this thematic unit is about insects, bugs and arthropods. Language arts and mathematics are also utilized throughout this lesson. This lesson, also, uses the components of direct instruction, teacher modeling, observation, discovery and direct student involvement including participation in cooperative learning groups. By formulating a hypothesis, conducting experiments and supporting their answers with reasoning skills learners will be challenged and enlightened.
Note: The objectives are based upon Bloom’s Taxonomy.
