Abstract
This lesson combines the Ecology Explorers protocol for collecting ground arthropods with the Boreal Kit, Geologic Timeline With Insects. Students follow protocol to collect local insects and identify them. Using this information students organize insect orders in a geologic timeline. Students work in groups to research the different geologic time periods and present their findings.
